The Mindfulness training gives you inner calmness, balance and a more clear daily life
In our highly effective culture we often try to find a technique, a new idea or a ”pill”, a fast fix that can reduce stress when we need it.
However, if we never learn to stop and really listen to ourselves, how realistic is it that we will ever get the chance to feel what causes stress? And how are we supposed to feel something truer and deeper than we already know if we never have time to ourselves?
A deep embedding in mindfulness can help us create more coherent and effective work environments. It can also lead to an improved personal ability to identify and solve problems, and to make constructive decisions, which makes working more satisfying, to ourselves and to our co-workers.
Training of mindfulness teaches us to dwell in deep relaxation and attention and to bring these qualities into every aspect of our personal and professional life. The stress reducing effect of meditation is connected to the growing ability to be present and insightful. It origins in our own ability to be calm and not act, but be attentive.
The retreat is not for ”sissies” or for those who out of routine avoid to feel the longing of the heart for more presence. It requires courage and will to be all present in your own life.

Teaching/training
A large part of the retreat will be in guided calmness. Leave your laptop at home and turn off your mobile phone.
Besides teaching there will be individual guidance in smaller groups.
Training will include sitting /walking meditation, body scan, and easy yoga exercises.
Sunday: Relaxation and departure
This intense Mindfulness course takes place in one of Mallorca’s oldest convents in midst fantastic nature and with a spectacular view. The place is known for its calmness and beauty – The food is traditional Majorcan cuisine.
Optional you can get a massage with some of Mallorca's best trained masseurs and physiotherapists.
As an extra we have arranged for massage at the convent, where you can order 30, 60 or 90 minutes of massage. Indian Head massage, Aroma Therapy Massage, Sports Massage, Stress Release Massage or Foot Massage

FACTS ABOUT MINDFULNESS
When stress sneaks up on you
When talking about stress symptoms, it is important to know that lack of presence not is the same as missing longing to be attentive and present. It is a loss of being over years, because the amount of doings and information has taken over. You have literally lost control of your own life. And have come to believe that the thoughts and feelings running through you make you the person you are. This situation has great impact on our health and well-being. It is well documented that constant stress leads to all sorts of physical conditions and mental symptoms that reduce life quality and working ability.
What is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
To meet the increasing number of clients, complaining about stress related conditions, dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn founded Center for Mindfulness in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979 and developed the treatment program Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). The program has ever since been used with stunning results on people with various conditions, such as stress/crisis related conditions, heart diseases, chronicle pain, head ache, high blood pressure, depression, cancer, skin problems, sleeping disorders, anxiety and panic attacks.
The research results of Massachusetts University show that this form of attentive training offers lasting symptom reduction and have a deep and positive effect on attitude, behaviour and self-concept. Today, MBSR is a recognised and worldwide method, used just as much by persons without physical conditions, who just want to be present and live life more full.

Brain research shows that Mindfulness practice create positive changes to the brain:
You will be happier: Activity in the right frontal lobe (controlling feelings like irritation, anger, anxiety, depression and loathing) are projected into the left frontal lobe (controlling feelings like enthusiasm, curiosity, happiness and joy). This means you will in general be a happier person.
Thicker cerebral cortex: Your cerebral cortex becomes thicker in the areas, controlling attention, advanced thinking and planning.
The brain cooperates: The cooperation between your two cerebral hemispheres will become better.
New brain cells: You will form new brain cells and your total capacity will increase.
Holes are patched up: The holes, created by the stress hormone cortisol in the hippocampus under long-term stress are patched up (Source: Dr. Richard Davidson, American brain scientist).

Eve Bengta Lorenzen
The person behind our Mindfulness lectures and courses is no other than Eve Bengta Lorenzen one of the pioneers in Mindfulness and is well-known for her many research projects e.g. at The University of Copenhagen, hospice, with ChronicalPain patients and many more. She is a teacher, therapist and mindfulness instructor, educated at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts in the USA, where she also is trained in Interpersonel Mindfulness.
Robert Jorgensen
As Eve's assisting teacher we have Psychologist, Yoga and Mindfulness coach Robert Jorgensen. He is a huge asset to have as a supporting teacher for everyone.
